With rumours heating up about whether or not The Boss would make an appearance at 2013’s most anticipated festival, it’s impossible not to speculate.
Well with this being the festival’s final lineup announcement, it looks like we won’t be treated to a performance by Springsteen after all, but there’s still plenty on extra goodness added to the lineup.
Aussie and Kiwi acts were only announced a while back, and include some of our finest with The Cat Empire, Xavier Rudd, Beasts Of Bourbon.
On top of local acts, there have been several HUGE announcements in previous months about what is sire to be one of Australia’s most impressive festival line ups of all time.
From iconic acts such as Led Zelleplin’s Robert Plant, guitar legend Santana, rock ‘n’ roll iconsIggy & The Stooges and master wordsmith Paul Simon to modern classics like Wilco and Dropkick Murphys, this is the lineup that just doesn’t quit!
As Festival Director Peter Noble has already enthused in our feature interview, the Easter music festival promises to be the hottest ticket in town.
The latest additions to the lineup include Grammy winning singer/songwriter Jason Mraz whose song ‘I’m Yours’ has captured the hearts of millions of people across the globe. Mraz will be playing on the opening day of the festival.
Joining Mraz will be Manu Chao & his band La Ventura who’ll put the icing on the cake with his performance on Good Friday. Chao has been described as one of the most charismatic and energetic musicians around today. His anti-Globalisation and Anti Free Trade stance has won him legions of fans around the world. His music is a blend of Punk, Rock, Reggae, Ska, Salsa, French Chanson and Algerian Rai.
As well as Mraz and Chao, Canadian surf rock band, Current Swell will be hitting the stage and as will blues stars Matt Anderson and Chris Smithers.
Repping Australia in the latest additions is Mark Seymour, the front man and songwriter for iconic Australian rock band Hunters & Collectors.
With so many more great additions to the huge lineup, it’s safe to say everyone better start planning their trip to Byron Bay!
