Kevin Abstract, BROCKHAMPTON’s de facto leader, is back and this time he’s armed with a fresh new EP for your listening pleasure.

Over the last couple of years, it’s been pretty hard to keep up with all the happenings in the world of BROCKHAMPTON.

While the “best boyband since One Direction” lost a member over some abuse allegations back in 2018, they didn’t let this stop them, releasing a brand new album, and even hitting up Australia for their debut tour of the country.

From there, it just kept on ramping up. While they recorded a music video in the streets of Melbourne, the collective filmed another clip in Sydney, and even hung around for a mesmerising Like A Version performance.

Since then, it’s been uncharacteristically quiet for the group. Were they hard at work in the studio? Plotting something huge? Or just taking time off?

Well, now we’ve received a bit of an idea about what’s been going on, with de facto leader Kevin Abstract releasing a solo EP earlier today.

Titled ARIZONA Baby and barely lasting nine-minutes, this new EP is Kevin Abstract’s first solo release since his American Boyfriend album back in 2016.

First teased earlier this week, the official BROCKHAMPTON Twitter account shared out a clip for a then-unknown track, noting that “THE 1-9-9-9 IS COMING”. This clip happened to be a preview of Abstract’s ‘Big Wheels’, which kicks off the new three-track EP.

Interestingly though, it seems like his period of releasing music is far from over, with Kevin Abstract also teasing the artwork for another project titled Ghettobaby.

While it’s unclear when this new release will hit our ears, it’s also unsure whether or not this will be a full-length album, or another short EP.

News of Ghettobaby also followed an image on Abstract’s Instagram account which appeared to promise something new coming on the 11th, 28th, and 25th of April. Any information on this third project is completely unknown, though we expect to hear more in the coming days and weeks.

Kevin Abstract’s ARIZONA Baby is available now via streaming services.
