It looks like BROCKHAMPTON are gearing up to release a new album soon, having teased some new music – and potentially an album title – during a new teaser.

It feels like only yesterday that BROCKHAMPTON released iridescence, their fourth studio album and the first entry in their The Best Years Of Our Lives trilogy.

While the record resulted in an Aussie tour as part of the Listen Out festival, the group also recorded two new music videos while in the country, and performed one of the most enigmatic Like A Versions to date.

Now following comments from leader Kevin Abstract that denied rumours BROCKHAMPTON had broken up while he works on solo material, it appears as though the “best boyband since One Direction” are already gearing up to release some new tunes.

Taking to Twitter recently, BROCKHAMPTON shared a video that shows Matt Champion sitting on the wing of a plane as new music accompanies the footage. As the clip comes to an end, Champion’s hat comes into view, bearing the word “Ginger”, before the same word is shown on screen.

Of course, fans have taken this to mean that BROCKHAMPTON’s fifth album will likely be called Ginger, though at this stage, there has been no official confirmation in regards to when we’ll receive a new single or record, but the group are notorious for dropping music without warning.

However, as for the new record’s sound, leader Kevin Abstract recently explained he wanted to make a “summer album” likely inspired by Outkast.

“We want to make a summer album. Feel-good. Not too sad and like, ‘Oh, our life sucks,’ just more like, ‘Just enjoy what’s in front of you’,” Abstract explained.

“Something we’re doing is putting those type of lyrics — like this shit is trash, anxiety, depression, all that stuff — taking those type of lyrics and putting it on a song that a bunch of people could dance to or something. It’s just like ‘Hey Ya!’ My favorite song ever. It’s basically that.”

In related news, BROCKHAMPTON were recently revealed as the first act of a stacked FOMO 2020 lineup, which will hit Aussie shores this January, and will see the group performing a special sideshow in Perth while they’re in town.
