Cardi B has managed to avoid a $10 million USD breach of contract lawsuit by her former manager after it was dismissed in court.

As reported by NME, Klenord ‘Shaft’ Raphael commenced proceedings to sue former client Cardi in 2018 off the back of accusations that she had breached the pair’s agreement.

Raphael alleged that Cardi had breached their terms by signing with Solid Foundation, the management division of Quality Control records.

As a result, Cardi launched a $30 million USD counterclaim, alleging that Raphael had signed their deal without supervision from a lawyer.

According to NME, she also claimed that Raphael had taken more money from her than what was owed during the pair’s partnership.

In documents obtained byAllHipHop.com, it was revealed that both the original lawsuit and the counterclaim from Cardi B were dismissed in court.

“This action, including all claims and counterclaims, is hereby dismissed in its entirety with prejudice against all parties. The parties have further agreed that all parties to this action shall bear their own costs and attorney’s fees,” the documents read.

As reported by NME, the dismissal means that Cardi’s previously withheld music royalties can now be distributed properly.

Taking to Twitter off the back of the news, Cardi wrote that it “feels good to be free.”

However, Cardi is still in the midst of another legal battle with a man who claims he plans to sue her for using an image of his tattoo as the cover art for 2016’s Gangsta Bitch Music Vol 1.

The plaintiff called Cardi’s unauthorised use of the image “misleading, offensive, humiliating and provocatively sexual,” NME reported.
