Slipknot have had lots of iconic masks throughout the years, but which one does Corey Taylor prefer? It turns out it’s a very recent one.

As per Loudwire, the band’s lead vocalist revealed his favourite personal Slipknot mask during a new Reddit AMA. “This one,” he simply replied when asked the question, referring to the mask that he first debuted at Rocklahoma in September 2021.

It’s a particularly eerie mask, with vicious stitching along the skull and mouth; it makes Taylor look like an extra from a Tim Burton film. And it’s lucky that the mask is Taylor’s favourite because it reportedly took three months to design.

When asked what was his favourite mask from the other Slipknot members, Taylor chose Sid Wilson’s current look, with Taylor hailing it as “ridicks”, which is presumably short for “ridiculous”.

Elsewhere in the AMA, Taylor also revealed his Desert Island Discs picks, discussed how his voice improved after quitting smoking, and much, much more. You can peruse the full AMA here.

The AMA took place just after the long-awaited release of Slipknot’s seventh studio album, The End, So Far, last week. Produced by the band and Joe Barresi, the album contained the singles ‘The Dying Song (Time to Sing)’ and ‘Yen’.

It’s received widespread acclaim, with Rolling Stone hailing The End, So Far as “a punishing new elegy.” In another positive review, NME wrote that “their next left turn of an era could be their most daring yet.”
