Iconic alt-rock group Dinosaur Jr. are set to give aspiring musicians some valuable lessons, announcing their own rock and roll camp in the America.

Ever since they first formed back in 1984, Dinosaur Jr. have been considered one of the most acclaimed alt-rock bands of the era. Influencing groups like Nirvana, Sonic Youth, and much more, the famed trio are now set to impart their wisdom to the future stars of the genre, announcing their own rock and roll camp.

As Pitchfork notes, Dinosaur Jr. have just announced Camp Fuzz, a three-day event that is set to take place in upstate New York at the end of July.

Over the course of the camp, attendees are set to partake in a number of workshops and educational sessions spearheaded by the group’s members.

While guitarist J Mascis will offer up workshops related to pedals and “guitar style”, Murph will head up a drum workshop, and bassist Lou Barlow teach a four-string guitar and ukulele clinic.

In addition to these lessons, both Mascis and Barlow will be treating those in attendance to some solo performances, while a number of special guests are also set to show up.

Of course, this is a rather timely announcement for Aussie fans, with Dinosaur Jr.’s J Mascis about to kick off the final few days of his extensive Aussie tour. With a three-night residency at Melbourne’s Howler kicking off tonight, Mascis will wrap up his most recent trip down under with a show in Castlemaine this weekend.

In related news, Dinosaur Jr.’s most recent album, Give a Glimpse of What Yer Not, was released back in 2016. Despite this, we recently noted how the band managed to storm the Japanese charts, inexplicably appearing above Ariana Grande with a 25-year-old song.

No word as to whether Camp Fuzz will give lessons on how to achieve such a feat, but if you’re planning to head to America later this year, you can find all the necessary info here.
