Kifano “Shotti” Jordan, the former manager of controversial rapper 6ix9ine, has been sentenced to 15 years in prison following a guilty plea in an investigation of racketeering.

Late in 2018, controversial musician 6ix9ine (born Daniel Hernandez) made headlines the world over after being arrested on federal charges of racketeering, initially facing up to 32 years in prison for his alleged crimes.

The rapper was arrested alongside four of his associates — former manager Shotti (Kifano Jordan), Ish (Jensel Butler), Crippy (Faheem Walter), and Fu Banga (Fuguan Lovick), with all men reportedly serving as members of Bloods street gang ‘Nine Trey Blood’, though 6ix9ine’s lawyers contended he only acted like a gangster, and was not actually a violent individual.

“As alleged in the indictment, this gang, which included platinum-selling rap artist Tekashi 6ix 9ine, wreaked havoc on New York City, engaging in brazen acts of violence,” explained U.S. Attorney Geoffrey S. Berman in a statement at the time.

“Showing reckless indifference to others’ safety, members of the gang were allegedly involved in robberies and shootings, including a shooting inside the crowded Barclay’s Center, and a shooting in which an innocent bystander was hit.”

While 6ix9ine pleaded guilty to nine charges earlier this year, and is set to be sentenced in early 2020, his former manager has now been sentenced to 15 years in prison.

As Pitchfork reports, Kifano “Shotti” Jordan – who is also the alleged leader of the Nine Trey Bloods gang – is set to serve 15 years in prison after having pled guilty to “one count of firearm possession during a crime and one count of firearm discharge during a crime.”

The charges stem back to the same two incidents from April of 2018 that also involved 6ix9ine.

As Rolling Stone also adds, court documents claim that 6ix9ine first met Jordan in 2017 during the video shoot for his song ‘Gummo’, with the rapper becoming increasingly involved with the gang from that point on.

Likewise, the documents also alleged that the 6ix9ine participated in a number of illegal activities, including the “gunpoint robbery of rivals of Nine Trey”, while he was also charged with intent to distribute more than one kilogram of “substances containing a detectable amount of heroin.”

6ix9ine is set to be sentenced on January 24th, 2020.
