Having already been announced as a headliner in the massive lineup of Bad Friday Weekender, Chicago indie outfit Twin Peaks has expanded their visit in Australia to include a full headlining tour.
In the space of just a decade, Twin Peaks has certainly made themselves a household name with a handful of albums and heaps of incredible singles. Recently making waves with their newest album, Lookout Low, fans have been eagerly awaiting their return to Australia since their tour alongside Skeggs in 2018.
Since their most recent album, the band has gone on to release two additional singles, ‘Cawfee’ and ‘St. Vulgar St.’. In addition to the release, the band pledged the profits from the sale of the 7-inch featuring the singles to Wires Australian Wildlife Rescue in the wake of the devastating bush fires.
In the midst of dropping singles, the band faced hard times with the theft of some of their instruments and gear. Even after launching an appeal on Facebook seeking their stolen goods only a few months ago, the band hasn’t lost hope, and remain as optimistic as ever.
“Everyone’s having so much fun playing together as we’ve all grown and gotten better,” says frontman Cadien Lake James. Adds Jack Dolan [bass], “There’s something intangible about how our chemistry and friendship has evolved. We rely on each other so much.”
You’d be hard-pressed to find a band that has such an optimistic and charismatic approach as they do, as even in the midst of suffering a blow to their resources hasn’t fazed their willingness to get out there and put on a show for their fans.
Now the band have announced their long awaited return to Australia with their headlining tour, while also playing at Boogie Festival and Bad Friday Weekender. You can catch them at their kick off show at Lions Art Factory in Adelaide, as well as Melbourne, Brisbane, and Wollongong.
