In a surprise announcement, Kings Of Leon will be hitting Australia in less than two weeks for a very special, very intimate one-off show.

The Nashville-based rockers are no strangers to playing shows Down Under, having sold out some of the country’s biggest arenas in minutes flat on previous tours, but for their brand new one-off show, they’ll be paring it back, playing at a smaller venue than the rock stadiums they usually inhabit.

Following the release of their latest album Mechanical Bull, the four-piece have announced they will perform a one-off intimate show at Sydney’s Enmore Theatre on Wesnesday 20th November, presented by Frontier Touring.

The Enmore is the smallest Sydney the band have played since their visit to Australia in 2006, and in the seven years since their last visit to the venue, the Followills have seen three albums shoot to the top of the Aussie charts, while scooping an armful of Grammy awards, accolades, and topped Triple J Hottest 100’s 2009 countdown with their staple ‘Sex On Fire’

Kings Of Leon’s exclusive Sydney date is their first Australian show since the release of their sixth and latest album Mechanical Bull, on which the “the Followill clan has recaptured their spark,” as our Tone Deaf reviewer wrote of the record, they “shake off the hangover and return to what made them prolific.”

The album debuted at the top of the ARIA Album Charts, joining previous albums Come Around Sundown (2010) and Only By The Night (2008), confirming that Australia’s love for Kings Of Leon is as strong as ever.

UK audiences were amongst the first to hear tracks from Mechanical Bull live when Kings Of Leon played to London, Manchester and Birmingham earlier this year. Both fans and critics were not left disappointed.

With the band’s previous Australian arena tours selling out, this show offers fans the rare opportunity to get up close and personal with Kings Of Leon as they showcase both their latest material from Mechanical Bull as well as the tracks that have made the world fall in love with them over and over again.

Joining as special guests for Kings Of Leon’s intimate Sydney date is The Growl, featuring Cam Avery (of fellow WA musical successes Tame Impala and Pond). The band have just finished a successful national trek, the Douse The Lamps National Tour, named after the latest single to be lifted from the band’s debut album What Would Christ Do??.

Considering the demand and rarity for a globally recognised band at a relatively small venue, Frontier Touring are taking measures to deter scalping, asking fans to note the following:

No hard tickets will be issued at time of purchase; instead you will be emailed confirmation of your purchase via email. Wristbands will be available for collection at both Enmore Theatre (118-132 Enmore Rd, Newtown) and Metro Theatre (624 George St, Sydney) between 10.00am and 6.00pm on show day.
