Last week, the long-running, much-loved touring music event – St Jerome’s Laneway Festival – announced its 2020 dates and locations.

Ever since then, the rumour mill went into overdrive, with social media users taking to the internet with their tips as to who they thought would be playing.

Now, festival organisers have answered your each and every lineup-related question, this morning unleashing their whopper of a lineup for 2020.

Packed to the brim with acts of many and varying genres from Australia and abroad, the lineup especially focuses on the amazing pop music being created.

Leading the charge is UK pop-rock act The 1975, who are currently here for their own headline tour. Fresh from debuting a brand new track, ‘People’, Laneway Festival will be The 1975’s only headline shows for 2020.

Joining them is Charli XCX. The ever-loved and genre-bending English pop icon will play across all five Laneway shows, bringing with her a slew of hits from her back-catalogue, as well as tracks from her new record, Charli.

Representing the Australian contingent are some of our very finest acts.

Sydneysider Ruel, the local-gone-global teen pop star heads up the Australian side of things.

With a new EP Free Time in tow, and an impressive number of streams for hits including ‘Younger’ and ‘Painkiller’, these will become some of his biggest shows to date.

Representing the rock side of things is none other than ‘Smoko’ hitmakers The Chats. Yes, The same Chats who are now best mates with Foo Fighters, Arctic Monkeys and Queens of the Stone Age. They’ll be bringing their bogan anthems to city centres across the country for Laneway 2020.

Reggae-rockers and triple j Hottest 100 winning ‘Confidence’ hit-makers Ocean Alley are set to bring their incredible live show across the country for the touring event.

Having completed several laps of the globe, with a number of sold out shows, this might be your last chance to hear new music from the boys before we hear a new album.

Rock up & comers Pist Idiots are also joining the acclaimed festival’s lineup for 2020. They recently played at Splendour In The Grass, and boy, was that a set for the ages? Pisties will bring with them their latest release, an EP called Ticker.
