After Donald Trump granted him a presidential pardon, Lil Wayne celebrated his freedom from a potential prison sentence with a new song.

Before finally leaving office after a very long four years, Donald Trump decided to pardon over a 100 people. Rapper Lil Wayne was reportedly on the list of those people. Now, Lil Wayne has dropped a new song, ‘Ain’t Got Time’, to celebrate his freedom from a potential prison sentence.

Wayne also thanked Trump in a statement on Twitter, for recognizing ‘that I have so much more to give to my family, my art, and my community.’ So, yeah.

ICYMI, Lil Wayme was facing up to ten years in prison after being charged with one count of possession of a firearm and ammunition by a convicted felon.

The incident dated back to December 2019, when, following an anonymous tip, authorities discovered a firearm on the rapper’s private plane. Miami Herald also reported that he had suspected cocaine, marijuana, pain killers, a gun and bullets, prescription-strength cough syrup, ecstasy, heroin, and $26,000 in cash. He later pled guilty to the charge.

Wayne references the incident on the track, saying: “‘The feds, they hot on us, one hundred on the thermometer, they raided my private plane, I went got one that’s more privater.”

Despite the former President’s history, Wayne was vocal in his support of Trump.

Ahead of the controversial 2020 election, he also seemed to support Trump in a tweet that said: “Just had a great meeting with [Donald Trump]. Besides what he’s done so far with criminal reform, the platinum plan is going to give the community real ownership. He listened to what we had to say today and assured he will and can get it done. Call me hand.”

Reportedly, being dumped by his girlfriend for his political allegiances wasn’t enough to stop him. He then also name-checked Trump on a track from his album No Ceilings 3.

So, yeah.
