Meredith 2013 has completely sold out of all tickets to this year’s 23rd edition, held this December 13, 14 & 15 at the stunning Meredith Supernatural Amphitheatre.

After two rounds of the subscriber ballot for the annual Meredith Music Festival were completed, and yesterday’s store allocations exhausted, the remaining allocation of tickets went on sale this morning at 11am and took just 4 minutes to sell out, according to a press statement from festival organisers.

“Prior to that, demand (and sales) in the Subscriber Ballot was bigger than ever, and stores saw the queues at each location long enough to account for all the tickets inside before the doors even opened,” reads the statement. “The keenest arrived at Greville Records at 9pm on Wednesday night and stayed overnight until 9am the next day. Hundreds of others gathered overnight to secure tickets at all stores including at Polyester City and Fitzroy, and in Geelong, Ballarat and the Surf Coast. Aunty Meredith’s helpers were on hand to hand out coffees and keep things moving in the right direction.”

It’s no surprise that demand was so fierce for Meredith 2013 considering there were 500 less tickets available for this year’s edition, but more appropriately because of its stellar lineup featuring international delights such as the Brian Jonestown Massacre, Nile Rodgers and Chic, Deerhunter, Melvins, Mac DeMarco, Joey Bada$$, Jon Hopkins, and more along with homegrown heroes like Spiderbait, Beasts of Bourbon, Vance Joy, Dick Diver, Courtney Barnett, Baptism of Uzi, The Smith Street Band, and more.

Those who missed out on tickets to Meredith 2013 but still aching for a slice of the lineup may take solace in the ream of sideshows and Australian tours announced by a number of its acts; including Legendary hitmaker Nile Rodgers and his band Chic, psych-rocknauts The Brian Jonestown Massacre, rock iconoclasts Deerhunter, slippery guitar slacker Mac DeMarco (in shows with Twerps), and 19-year-old hip hop sensation Joey Bada$$.

The festival’s benevolent matriarch, Aunty Meredith notes that “the ext opportunity for some Quality Time in the Meredith Supernatural Amphitheatre is Golden Plains 8, the dates for which have been announced as March 8–10, 2014. The ballot is not open yet, but to subscribe go to www.goldenplains.com.au. Last year Golden Plains Lucky 7 sold out quicker than at any time in her history.”
