Earlier this week, The Rolling Stones were forced to postpone their scheduled North American tour, citing Mick Jagger’s health as the reason for the cancellation. It has now been revealed that Jagger is set to undergo heart surgery this week.

Drudge Report has revealed that Mick Jagger is scheduled to undergo surgery in New York this Friday to replace his heart valve. The band were forced to cancel their North American tour as a result of the operation and recovery period.

“Mick Jagger has been advised by doctors that he cannot go on tour at this time as he needs medical treatment,” a representative for the band confirmed. “The doctors have advised Mick that he is expected to make a complete recovery so that he can get back on stage as soon as possible.”

“I really hate letting you down like this,” Jagger tweeted. “I’m devastated for having to postpone the tour but I will be working very hard to be back on stage as soon as I can.”

The Rolling Stones recently made headlines after it was revealed that they were charging fans a cool $35,000 for a meet-and-greet package. Naturally, people were outraged over the absurd price. However, a percentage of the money raised from the meet-and-greet will benefit Community Links, an East London charity that aims to tackle deprivation and inequality through providing practical support and opportunities to people that need it.

We’re all hoping that Mick Jagger has an easy recovery and can get back to prancing around stages in no time.
