It’s been more than a year since the passing of Soundgarden’s iconic frontman Chris Cornell.

Multiple tributes from fellow musicians have poured out honouring the grunge pioneer‘s enduring impact on music, a statue in his honour, and a US TV-series is set to dive into the mystery surrounding his death. And now it seems to be time for his first official posthumous music release.

Chris Cornell’s social media accounts are currently displaying a thick-lined scrawl with the hashtag #WhenBadDoesGood. The date September 21 has been teased for a supposed single release alongside an artist rendering of his face.

What’s more, his official website also features a form to fill out to be updated with any new details.

Whatever the big reveal may be on September 21, it’s likely to bring forward the same kinds of emotions which were outpoured at the time of his death in May 2017.
