It’s only a matter of weeks until the completely sold out Splendour In The Grass kicks off its three days of musical festivities in its new permanent home in The Byron Bay Parkland, and after recently expanding its already mammoth 2013 lineup and announcing extra curricular arts and craft features, festival organisers are now getting even more musical goodness courtesy of an internationally recognised institution.

The Red Bull Music Academy is a world-renowned, globetrotting series of workshops, panels, gigs, and panel sessions aimed at furthering music education with unique insights with cutting edge artists; to help celebrate its 15th anniversary is curating its very own stage at Splendour In The Grass this for each of the event’s three days from Friday 26th July to Sunday 28th July.

The Red Bull Music Academy stage will kick off onstage from 6pm each night, with a strong slant of DJs and unique electronic acts to get bodies moving. The list of local highlights includes Canyons, Holy Balm, Galapagoose, Zanzibar Chanel, SilentJay, Kano, Mitzi DJs, Octologic DJs,  alongside internationally famed acts Onra, Rick Wilhite, James Pants, and Waajeed.

The Red Bull Music Academy takes up residency in a new city each year, with previous hosts including London, Barcelona, Rome, Seattle, and even Melbourne in 2006. This year, it took up residency in New York with a series of lectures featuring the likes of LCD Soundsystem’s James Murphy, Brian Eno, Philip Glass, Giorgio Moroder, The Roots drummer ?uestlove Blondie’s Debbie Harry & Chris Stein, and Q-Tip of A Tribe Called Quest infamy, all discussing their careers at length through in-depth conversations.
