The Stereosonic 2013 set times have landed, rolling out the timetables for this year’s 100+ strong lineup for each of its five dates.

The full Stereosonic 2013 playing times (see below), follow on from news that Australia’s biggest dance music festival had sold out all 65,000 tickets to its Sydney leg and enforcing anti-scalper measures for the event’s opening leg.

This year the popular annual event gets even bigger as it expands to two days’ worth of DJs and EDM favourites, with the Stereosonic 2013 lineup including some of the world’s topped rank DJs – such as Armin Van Buuren, David Guetta, Nicky Romero, and multi-millionaire Scot Calvin Harris (who earns just a little less than a Beatle!), along with an Aussie contingent that features Empire Of The Sun, and more than 300 local acts spread across all five capital city dates.

In related news, the American investment company that was looking to buy up Sterosonic owners, Australia’s Totem Onelove Group, as part of a global sweep of dance music promotions and festivals, has since completed their multi-million dollar acquisition.

SFX Entertainment made a move to buy up the parent company of Stereosonic for $75 million in July ahead of the festival’s 2013 edition, part of a proposed $1 billion expenditure by SFX to compete globally as the EDM equivalent of the world’s largest concert promoters, Live Nation.

The final sale was completed at the end of October, as Billboard reportswith SFX finalising their buy-up following floating on the stock exchange to raise funds to complete their buy-out of Totem OneLove as one of 52 dance music festivals around the world under SFX’s control.

Following the Sydney sell-out, Stereosonic organisers note that limited tickets are available for the remaining dates in Adelaide, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Perth – where the weekend-long expansion has ruffled the feathers of local council.

Perth’s Claremont Council already labelled last year’s Stereosonic patrons as “the worst ever” and have cast further dispersions on the festival-goers of this December’s two day Stereosonic 2013 at the Claremont Showgrounds, saying that attendees would rather squat than have the common sense to seek accommodation around the non-camping event.

“That’s a load of crap,” Claremont councillor Anita Lorenz told local papers, sceptical that festival-goers would bother to book into local hotels and motels for the duration of the festival.“It sounds like it could be a problem,” added Ms Lorenz, “we’ve already got people passing out on lawns and residents’ verandahs.” Ms Lorenz says that both her council constituents and local residents are concerned about ‘what might happen’ overnight.
