Eagles Of Death Metal Soundwave 2014 Sidewaves have been announced, in the latest in a series of headlining shows from Soundwave-billed acts.

Following from yesterday’s news that AFI and ††† (Crosses) would be teaming up for 2014 Sidewaves, the latest Soundwave news see Eagles Of Death Metal playing headline sideshows in Sydney and Melbourne with Rocket From The Crypt and Mutemath.

Eagles Of Death Metal are thrilled to tell punters to “get ready for a blissed out dirty rock ride’, bringing their unique blend of double–entendre boogie to Australian stages again for the first time in seven years!

Jesse Hughes and his high-flying metal conspirators will bring sex, humour, and fun with their churning guitars and hook-driven choruses. With the band in the studio recording new music, 2014 just got a whole lot shinier.

Joining Eagles of Death Metal will be none other than Rocket From The Crypt. Australian fans will finally get the chance to see the band after 12 long years.

Adorned in flamboyantly matching attire, led by the most charismatic and energetic front man since The King himself, armed with a ferociously ska-free horn section and backed up by a legion of devout rocket-tattoo-stamped fans to boot.

Rounding out a monster night will be Mutemath, letting Australian fans’ love affair with this band continue as they hit our shores for the third time in nearly as many years.

Rooted in New Orleans rhythm and blues, fusing elements from psychedelia to traditional gospel to modern electronica, Mutemath constantly deliver anything but a conventional band experience.

In reference to the band’s latest album, their third LP and first self-produced effort Odd Soul, frontman Paul Meany summarises: “I think the title describes this record in every context. It’s who we are, where we’ve been, and what we incidentally sound like when set to music.”

The The Eagles Of Death Metal, Rocket From The Crypt, and Mutemath Soundwave 2014 Sidewaves arrive following huge last-minute lineup changes to the Soundwave 2014 lineup after top-billed act Stone Temple Pilots announced they’d cancelled on their festival appearance and sideshows just four weeks out from the event’s kick off.

Citing commitments to recording their first album with Linkin Park singer Chester Bennington, Soundwave revealed that Aussie rock favourites, The Living End, would be replacing STP on the Soundwave 2014 lineup.

The Living End are the latest addition to the bill following a third lineup announcement bringing the likes of Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora, Filter, and I Killed The Prom Queen, to join festival headliners Green Day and Avenged Sevenfold, plus the ranks of such bands as Megadeth, Rob Zombie, Alice In Chains, Korn, Biffy ClyroMastodon, A Day To Remember, Gojria, and many more.

The Eagles Of Death Metal, Rocket From The Crypt, and Mutemath are the latest to join a series of massive triple-headline shows, featuring Alice In Chains, Down, and Walking With PapersLess Than Jake, Bowling For Soup, and ZebraheadJimmy Eat World, Panic! At The Disco, with Alkaline TrioMastodon, Baroness, and Gojira, as well as Rob Zombie & Korn, and Alter Bridge & Living Colour, plus Megadeth, Volbeat, and Newsted.
