NOFX have released 40 Years of Fuckin’ Up: Soundtrack + Score, the musical companion to their career-spanning documentary, 40 Years of Fuckin’ Up.
Out now digitally, the 26-track collection brings together a 15-song soundtrack and an 11-song original score, digging through four decades of NOFX while also adding new material to the band’s catalogue.
To mark the release, NOFX have also shared a live video for “We Did It Our Way”, filmed during the band’s final shows in San Pedro, California, in 2024.
The track is one of two new songs included on the soundtrack. The collection also features six rare and unreleased recordings, among them a demo of “Secret Society”, an early version of “On The Road”, and NOFX’s cover of “La Bamba”.
Live versions of longtime favourites “Linoleum” and “NOFX” also appear on the soundtrack.
The other half of the release is devoted to an original score created for the documentary. Fat Mike leads the 11-track score, with Matt Nasir also credited on the film’s music.
The deluxe double-LP edition comes with a 24-page retrospective photo book featuring rare and previously unseen images from across NOFX’s 40-year history, with cover art illustrated by Tokyo Hiro. The physical edition is currently set for release October 2nd.

40 Years of Fuckin’ Up follows the band across more than four decades and features Fat Mike, Aaron “El Hefe” Abeyta, Eric Melvin and Erik “Smelly” Sandin. Directed by James Buddy Day and produced by Fat Mike, the documentary premiered at SXSW in March and has since continued through theatrical and festival screenings, as well as the Cannes Film Market.
Director James Buddy Day said the response to the film has turned its screenings into something closer to a communal punk show.
“We made a documentary, but what’s happening in theatres feels bigger than that,” Day said. “Every city has turned into this celebration of NOFX, punk rock, and the people who grew up with the band.”
El Hefe said the band approached the film with the same DIY mentality that shaped NOFX throughout its career.
“Look, we’ve never done anything the ‘right’ way and making this film was no different,” he said. “We went in DIY, the same way we’ve done everything for 40-plus years. No suits, no committee, just us figuring it out.”
He described the documentary as both something for longtime fans and a chance for people who never saw NOFX live to understand what surrounded the band.
“We wanted to make something for the diehards who’ve been with us since day one, but also for the people who maybe never got to experience what this whole thing was,” he said. “A proper send-off. A final stamp.
“And honestly, the response has floored me. I had no idea how deep our music ran with people all over the world. Seeing all that love come back to us as we close this chapter, it’s been incredible.”
