Queens Of The Stone Age are set to release some new music this week, having announced a Christmas-themed charity single.

The festive season has well and truly arrived for fans of Queens Of The Stone Age. While it’s currently been over a year since the release of their last album, Villains, the band treated Aussie audiences to a series of amazing tour dates just a few months ago.

However, it turns out that this visit to Australia ended up being rather productive, with the band recording a couple of songs during their time in the country.

Arriving this Friday, Queens Of The Stone Age are set to release a new Christmas-themed single. The A-side sees Josh Homme teaming up with QOTSA bandmate Dean Fertita and Aussie blues icon (and recent tourmate) C.W. Stoneking to perform their cover of ‘Silent Night’.

On the B-side, Josh Homme delivers a family affair, teaming up with Aussie-born wife, Brody Dalle of The Distillers, and “their three merry-making elves” to read ‘’Twas the Night Before Christmas’.

We’re sure this one is bound to appeal to the hardcore fans because, after all, we’ve seen Josh Homme read to us before, and it didn’t really get us in the festive mood.

While the single is set to be released this Friday on digital platforms, a limited-edition 7″ vinyl version is available for pre-order ahead of its December 14th release date.

All proceeds from this single are set to go to a good cause, with the money being split between Josh Homme’s Sweet Stuff Foundation, and Aussie charity Support Act. Both foundations attempt to provide much-needed support for musicians.
