It’s been two painful, tedious years without new music from Rihanna. One of modern pop and RnB’s reigning Queens has taken to the Instagram comments section to confirm that a follow up to 2016’s totally underappreciated ANTI- will arrive in 2019.

Whilst Rihanna was spruiking the latest release for her acclaimed Fenty makeup line, a fan boldly asked whether we could have a release date for a new album, to which Rihanna responded “2019”.

ANTI- saw Rihanna play with new musical flavours she hadn’t previously dabbled in including soft rock and indie, culminating in a zesty, audible feast. The album spawned some of the legend’s best and most loved tracks, including ‘Work’ and ‘Needed Me’, so we’re sure whatever Rihanna has up her sleeve next will blow us out of the water.

Rihanna has been extremely busy over the last two years, launching her very own makeup line to massive success, as well as working on a film alongside Donald Glover.

She also turned down an offer to play the Superbowl Halftime show, following controversy surrounding Colin Kaepernick.

“They offered it to her, but she said no because of the kneeling controversy. She doesn’t agree with the NFL’s stance,” said sources close to the pop star.
