The covers by Robert Fripp and Toyah Willcox have become one of the highlights of our week, and their take on Heart’s ‘Barracuda’ is no exception.

Yep, the husband and wife duo have put their signature spin on the track as part of their Sunday Lunch video series and now we’re obsessed.

This week’s performance was even more theatrical than we’ve come to expect, with Willcox donning a mermaid costume complete with a tail and colourful wig.

Following the tradition of the last few weeks, the pair were also joined by mysterious guitar player Sidney Jake, who has worn the same gold mask in each of his appearances.

“The Kitchen madness continues with performance straight from the ‘Heart’. Toyah, Robert and mysterious stranger Sidney Jake rock out to Barracuda. Look out for the Mermaid!” Willcox captioned the video.

Over the course of the Sunday Lunch series, Fripp and Wilcox have shared performances of tracks by bands like Nirvana, Metallica, The Rolling Stones, Guns N’ Roses, Foo Fighters and more.

In an interview with The Guardian, Willcox revealed why they began the series.
“Here I am in this house with this 74-year-old husband who I really don’t want to live without,” she said.

She continued: “He was withdrawing, so I thought: ‘I’m going to teach him to dance.’ And it became a challenge.”

“The response was so overwhelmingly positive, and now, six months down the line, he can see that it was quite an important thing to do, in that it became a shared experience with an audience that needed to be reminded of the beauty of human laughter.”
