The Kevin Parker-led band are taking their world renowned live show across Australia this April. Due to whopping demand, they’ve added a second date in Melbourne.

We’re just days away from Tame Impala’s long awaited fourth album The Slow Rush. But fans aren’t waiting to make a judgement on the new record before snapping up tickets to the band’s upcoming tour. Tickets for Tame Impala’s April 23 show at Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena have all sold out. A second show at the same venue, on Friday April 24, will go on sale this Friday February 14.

The sell-out is no great surprise seeing as Melbourne has always been a Tame Impala stronghold. The tour behind 2015’s Currents brought them to the Sidney Myer Music Bowl. Parker remarked at the time that it was their biggest headline show to date.

Tame Impala have become one of the biggest bands in the world in the years since. That’s no hyperbole – last year they headlined Coachella and Primavera and played a highly rated Glastonbury set.

We’ve already heard four singles from The Slow Rush, the latest being ‘Lost In Yesterday’. But if you can’t wait until Friday, a number of pre-release listening parties are happening around the country this week.

Sydney fans can head down to Civic on Wednesday February 12. Doors open at 10pm and it’s first in best dressed. The same applies for Melbourne’s Globe Alley. Again, Wednesday February 12, 10pm. And they’re taking it back to where it all began with an album-eve listening party at Fremantle’s Aardvark Bar. It kicks off at 8pm on Thursday February 13. See below for full tour dates.
