Rapper and generally-not-good human Tekashi 6ix9ine has made headlines from jail AGAIN today, this time for apparently scamming fashion brand Fashion Nova. TMZ reports the rapper had a six figure deal with the brand to mention their name in his track “MAMA” but never fulfilled his obligation.

The Dummy Boy track which features Kanye West and Nicki Minaj includes the line “Splish splash apple bottoms make that ass phat,” but apparently as part of 6ix9ine’s deal with Fashion Nova the original lyric was “Splish splash Fashion Nova make that ass phat,”. Listen to the track below.

Tekashi had teased the track previously on his Instagram with the Fashion Nova lyric included, and it’s unclear as to why it changed. According to TMZ’s “label sources” the fashion brand had already paid the artist for the deal which was set to also include promotion of the brand in the music video.

The video is also likely to never see the light of day due to the whole shooting debacle that happened on set. Whilst it’s unclear why the deal has fallen apart, many people are assuming it’s because of Minaj’s feud with Cardi B who recently launched her first collection with Fashion Nova.

In the past couple of weeks Tekashi 6ix9ine has made headlines for his arrest on racketeering charges. The artist pleaded not guilty but was refused bail, he faces multiple life sentences and more charges are expected to be bought against the rapper in the coming months ahead of his September 2019 trial.

His album Dummy Boy was originally set for release last week but was postponed after his arrest. Following it’s leak over the weekend it was officially released earlier this week. Over the weekend it was announced 6ix9ine had been moved to a new federal prison after threats from members of The Bloods and The Crips were made against him.
