Earlier this week, Tom Morello underwent surgery after he fractured his hand playing the guitar. The enduring six-string legend took to Instagram to post an image of his surgery, that’s not particularly for the faint at heart.
Despite doctors saying he wouldn’t be able to tour, Morello has made a speedy recovery on his playing hand, hopping onstage for a gig with Prophets Of Rage.
Following doctors orders, Morello didn’t go too hard with his mind-boggling abilities, asking a crowd member to help him out with playing the iconic opening riff of Rage Against The Machine’s ‘Bulls On Parade’.
“Last Thursday, I fractured my hand and broke it in two,” Morello told the crowd. “And the doctor said, ‘There’s no way you guys are going to be able to go on tour. I said, ‘There are some crazy-ass motherfuckers in Sweden who need to see this shit so staple it back together and make sure I’m at that show.”
Morello told the crowd that his arm was “getting a little tired now,” asking if any crowd member “really” new how to play the classic track. Now, playing guitar next to THE Tom Morello would be an intimidating task to say the least.

In an epic turn of events, lucky fan Mike Svensson jumped up onstage with the legend and quite frankly, killed it.

Morello recently opened up in an interview about why today would be the perfect time for Rage Against The Machine to exist.
“Today would be the perfect time for Rage. But 10 years ago that was not very different, and in 10 years it will certainly be similar. It’s always a good time for a band like us, but it’s not an easy journey either.”
“If you want to be a successful musician, it’s definitely easier to write songs about drugs and women than about how fucked up the world is.”
