Sydney post-rockers We Lost The Sea will be hitting the road later this year, announcing a headline tour in support of their upcoming album, Triumph & Disaster.
Earlier this year, Sydney outfit We Lost The Sea found themselves at the centre of some high-profile publicity after English comedian Ricky Gervais featured their music in his highly-acclaimed series After Life.
“If you love Mogwai and Hammock, you might like We Lost The Sea,” Gervais stated to his millions of Twitter followers early last year. “They go great with computer chess and red wine too.”
After their track ‘A Gallant Gentleman’ was featured in an episode of Gervais’ series, he reached out to call their music “inspirational”, undoubtedly scoring them a whole legion of new fans in the process.
However, the band haven’t let the fame go to their head, having been busy recording the follow-up to 2015’s Departure Songs, with Triumph & Disaster set to be released in just over a month.

Described as a “post-apocalyptic view of the collapse of the world”, the record “told like a children’s story and illustrated through the eyes of a mother and her son as they spend one last day on Earth.”
Serving as a lament for the planet, the album talks about themes and events such as the climate crisis, over consumption, isolation and the loss of love and trust, while the whole story is brought to life via a fully illustrated children’s book.
To celebrate the release of the album this October, We Lost The Sea will kick things off with an extensive tour of China before travelling back home for an Aussie tour in November.
Accompanied by Tangled Thoughts Of Leaving at most shows, the tour will kick off in Brisbane on November 22nd, before travelling through Sydney, Adelaide, Perth, and Melbourne, undoubtedly blowing fans away with their devastatingly-beautiful style of post-rock.
