The Splendour In The Grass 2014 lineup has expanded once more with another batch of local and international artists joining the 80+ artists on the festival bill.

The new mix of artists arrives with the announcement that the Red Bull Music Academy (RBMA) stage will be returning to Splendour for this year’s sold out edition, following its inaugural appearance at the Byron Bay event last year to mark the Academy’s 15th Anniversary.

The RBMA, which travels the globe through its series of workshops, insightful lectures (eg. Brian Eno), and curated stages at music festivals (including Laneway), has a killer roster for its second ever Splendour appearance.

Leading the lineup additions is master DJ and Stones Throw label head, Peanut Butter Wolf, and experimental LA group NGUZUNGUZU, with New Zealand’s Louis Baker (an RBMA graduate) rounding out the list of internationals.

Also rocking the Red Bull stage until 2 am each night of the three-day music festival is a great selection of local artists, including one of Australia’s rising hip hop greats, Remi, mashup VJ Sampology, Meredith alumni Roland Tings, Hiatus Kaiyote associate and bass wizard Kirkis (one of PBS’s picks of 2014), plus electronic producers Cassius Select, Oisima, and Young Franco.

Nicole Millar, Silentjay, Flamingo, Edd Fisher, and Jordan Rakei round out the Splendour 2014 lineup additions (which brings the total tally to 100 artists) with Red Bull promising more international artists to be announced as it confirms the next location to host Red Bull Music Academy will be Tokyo. The Japanese city will be the setting for two weeks of music workshops, recording sessions, and more.

In related news, Splendour In The Grass may be sold out (despite a major upset caused by a Moshtix hacker) but there’s still a huge list of Splendour 2014 sideshows that offer a chance to catch selections of the festival lineup, including dates from Childish GambinoFirst Aid KitÁsgeirTune-YardsFuture Islands, and Kelis.
