Guns N’ Roses have been forced to cut a performance in Abu Dhabi short after frontman Axl Rose fell “severely ill”.

Guns N’ Roses are currently on the home stretch of their long-awaited ‘Not In This Lifetime…’ tour, which has managed to gross over $480.9 million to date. With just two shows left before they wrap up in Hawaii next month, the band are undoubtedly giving their all.

However, fans at the band’s show in Abu Dhabi were left feeling a little disappointed, after Guns N’ Roses were forced to cut the show short due to sickness.

Near the beginning of Sunday night’s concert, Axl Rose explained to the crowd that he had been incredibly ill in the hours leading up to the gig.

“They’ve got me on IVs and a bunch of injections, ’cause I got sick today, I’ve been throwing up for about the last five hours,” Rose can be heard telling the crowd.

“So, instead of canceling, I’m gonna do the best show we can for you.”

After performing just 17 songs in what is typically a 28-song set, the band were forced to leave the stage, leaving fans wondering what was going on.

In a series of Tweets posted later, members of the group explained that Axl Rose had been in rather poor shape, and that it was a miracle he even performed for as long as he did.

“Axl Rose pulled a damn miracle,” explained Duff McKagen. “The man was beyond ill, and pulled off something I’ve never seen in my 40 yrs of playing.”

Likwewise, Slash also echoed this sentiment, thanking the crowd for their support during the set. “Abu Dhabi, you guys were fucking great tonight!” he wrote. “Axl was severely ill. But you all were hugely supportive. Thanks for that.”

As it stands, the band have two performances left on this current tour, with a show in Johannesburg on Thursday, and the final performance in Hawaii next week.

While Axl Rose has been thinking about the future of the band and what may come after this tour, we’re just hoping he’ll be well enough to actually finish out these upcoming shows first.
