Blink-182 have dedicated a performance of their classic 1999 track ‘Aliens Exist’ to former member and alien enthusiast, Tom DeLonge.
Just last month, Blink-182 celebrated the 20th anniversary of their third studio album – and commercial breakthrough – Enema Of The State.
To mark the occasion, the group have been out performing the record in its entirety as part of a series of special shows. As a result, this saw the band dust off a few tracks for the first time in years, including ‘Aliens Exist’ (not played since 2001) and ‘Anthem’ (not played since 1999).
However, at their recent show in Hartford, Connecticut on Saturday night, the group kicked off their performance of the UFO-themed track to founding member Tom DeLonge.
“This song goes out to Tom, where ever he is,” bassist Mark Hoppus can be heard saying, right before DeLonge’s replacement – Alkaline Trio’s Matt Skiba – chimes in with his iconic lyrics.

While Tom DeLonge left Blink-182 in 2015, he has spent his time since as a UFO researcher, while he recently resurrected his beloved Angels And Airwaves project.
Back in May though, DeLonge got tongues wagging when he revealed that he had plans to rejoin Blink-182 in the near future.
“I will play with Blink again. That’s the whole plan,” the guitarist explained. “I talk to Travis all the time, and I talked to Mark just the other day and we’re always discussing what makes sense and when.”
Sadly, Mark Hoppus shot down these rumours merely days later, noting that “There is not any talk of that right now. I mean I’ll never say never to anything, but that is a completely unfounded rumour at this point.”
Regardless, Blink-182 are set to release their long-awaited eighth album sometime within the next couple of months, having released their latest single – ‘Generational Divide’ – a matter of weeks ago.
