If you haven’t yet had the chance to hear the beautiful voice of Adam Newling in person, belting out tunes like ‘Sweetness‘, ‘Morning Breath’, or his latest single ‘Singing Blackbird’ yet, then get ready to experience his catalogue as he forges across Australia bringing his new EP, Half Cut and Dangerous, to the stage.
After debuting as a solo artist in early 2020, last year was a breakthrough period for Newling: he released his debut EP, Occupational Anxiety, in May, while his track ‘Sweetness’ reached number 98 in triple j’s Hottest 100; expect ‘Singing Blackbird’ to have a strong chance of making next year’s countdown, and for the tour to be a dazzling experience.
Days away from dropping, the new Half Cut and Dangerous EP will be paraded around the country beginning in mid-April, hitting Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane, bringing a fair share of good vibes along with it, along with new songs, old favourites, and the pure charisma that Newling brings to the stage.
With Adam Newling quickly rising to become one of Australia’s most beloved indie artists with his mesmerising tenderness that he brings to each tune, and the soul-opening rawness that comes along for the ride, the tour brings a new edge to his music, and seeing him live is an entire experience that’s completely unmissable.
Check out Adam Newling’s newest single ‘Singing Blackbird’:
The indie artists just released his latest single ‘Singing Blackbird’ a month ago, noting that the song came to “when an old friend of mine told me a story about ‘Blackbird’ by The Beatles being a funeral song.” Sounding out as a cathartic anthem, hearing it live is set to be a treat.
As for the rest of the songs on Half Cut and Dangerous EP, Newling notes that the EP shows him at his most vulnerable, bringing as much of ‘him’ to the songs as possible:
“These songs explore the many sides of my mind and personality, the light and the dark. The EP is about heartbreak and triumph. I explored the doldrums of life, living with a dream of sharing my insecurities through songs and poetry with anyone that happens to be on a similar voyage.”

Keen as for the tour, Newling stated that last year saw him record eight songs, which “gave life to what was living inside my head and after one quotable evening the record was made,” continuing on to say, “this April I’ll be bringing it to you live with the full band of my most beautiful friends. See ya there punks.”
