Groovin The Moo 2014 has put up another sold out sign for another leg of the regional tour as the music festival’s lineup adds another batch of local acts.
With two-and-a-half weeks left until its kick off, Groovin The Moo’s Maitland leg has officially exhausted its allocation of tickets, joining Bendigo as the second sold out event for this year’s edition. It’s also the “eighth consecutive year the flagship Maitland event has sold out” according to a statement from organisers issued this afternoon spreading the good word.
“Maitland! Thank you so much for making our tenth year very special. We appreciate your continued support of Groovin the Moo,” says Stephen Haplin of GTM organisers, Cattleyard Promotions. “We’re really excited about this year’s line up and looking forward to another great day!”
Speaking of the Groovin The Moo 2014 lineup, today sees more Aussie artists joining the bill. Young experimental Brisbane songwriter (and Triple J Next Crop pick) Eves has joined the lineup in Townsville, while Perth’s electro hip hop MC Coin Banks joins the Bunbury event. “Maitland! Thank you so much for making our tenth year very special.”
The two newest additions in the latest in a ream of artists that have been used to bulk up the bill in each of the six Groovin The Moo legs, including the previously announced pool of Triple J Unearthed winners.
The first date of the regional music festival, the newly-added South Australian date in Oakbank, exclusively features Bad//Dreems, Jimblah, and Tkay Maidza. The now sold out Maitland leg stars Gang Of Youths, The Gooch Palms, and Thief, while the likes of Drawing North, Nicole Millar, and the Steptones will grace the Canberra event.
Groovin The Moo Bendigo’s additions include D.D Dumbo, Lurch & Chief, and My Echo; Townsville gains Atticus Beats, Paces, and the aforementioned Eves; the closing Bunbury leg benefits from MC Coin Banks, plus Crooked Colours, and Mathas.
Last month, rising hip hop star Allday was also added to the lineup, drafted in as a replacement after US rapper Action Bronson pulled out of the festival and accompanying sideshows ”due to unforeseen circumstances regarding recording commitments.” (Re: making his major label debut.)
The rest of the Groovin The Moo 2014 lineup features a strong mix of international acts – like Disclosure, The Naked And Famous, Dizzee Rascal and Cults – as well as homegrown talent like Vance Joy, The Presets, Violent Soho, Karnivool, Kingswood, The Jezabels, and more.
