Returning to Australia following his recent epic performances supporting Kendrick Lamar and Eminem at the Rapture Festival, US hip-hop phenomenon Action Bronson is playing a series of headline shows across the country this April and May presented by Niche.

One of Hip-hop’s most colourful and charismatic characters, Action Bronson’s live shows are the stuff of legend. Balancing a buffet of beats, unsurpassable craft, outlandish lyrics and raucous performances, Bronson, who’s pegged by pitchfork as “one of the most hilarious and creative writers in rap,” delivers a double barrel as both musical mastermind and shameless showman.

While Bronson was a ravenous musical connoisseur who grew up admiring artists like Kool G. Rap, Cam’ron and Mobb Deep, he never contemplated rapping himself. But a few years back, he penned a satirical song over a Southern beat CD and the results were improbably impressive. With an oversized personality, intricate wordplay and the cagy charm of an outer-borough striver, he was a natural. And after a broken leg forced him out of the kitchen, Bronson began writing seriously.

Fast-forward to 2014, and Action Bronson heads Down Under to the tune of rave reviews from his latest mix-tape Blue Chips 2, released late last year. With his first studio album due out in the coming months, Action Bronson fans will likely be treated to some new material.

The news of the Action Bronson Groovin The Moo 2014 Sideshows arrives following similar tour announcements from fellow GTM-billed acts.

Already announced sideshows include UK dance duo Disclosure, NZ synth-rockers The Naked And Famous, UK grime scamp Dizzee Rascal, New York indie duo Cults, Melbourne singer-songwriter Vance Joy, rocking quartet Kingswood, and mighty electro duo The Presets.

Meanwhile, the regional tour has already announced its first sell-out date, with tickets now completely exhausted for the Bendigo leg of Groovin The Moo on its 10th Anniversary trip this April/May.
