First, we had ‘Despacito’ by Justin Bieber and co. which used to reign supreme as the biggest song in history, but now Lil Nas X has stolen the crown with ‘Old Town Road’, according to the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
The country rap pop masterpiece was certified as 14 times platinum on Saturday, January 9th (American time), which tipped the scales to make the song the biggest in the 69-year history of the RIAA.
Lil Nas X took to Instagram to celebrate the massive milestone.
“OLD TOWN ROAD IS OFFICIALLY 14 TIMES PLATINUM. MOST PLATINUMS FOR ANY SONG EVER! LETS GOOO!” He posted.
