Having a dip in a saltwater pool, cosying up to the fire with a good book, and enjoying a tipple in a private speakeasy – that’s how superstar bassist Flea seems to unwind at home when he’s not moshing topless and getting nude on-stage with the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

At least, that’s what we can deduce from a virtual tour inside the 51-year-old Michael ‘Flea’ Balzary fancy Los Angeles mansion, which has been put on the market for the asking price of $6.8 million.

The Mediterranean-style .78-acre property comes stacked with amenities. The main house features four bedrooms, a private speakeasy (!), pretty large living and dining room spaces run with hardwood and tile floors, and several elaborately carved fireplaces, including an outdoor loggia, as images from the Estately listing reveal.

Mr. Flea is also an avid reader, with a huge personal library and shelves stocked with books and media across several rooms. You can even spot the Chili Peppers’ Stadium Arcadium football helmet at his desk.

A recently remodelled guest house contains another fireplace and two more bedrooms outfitted with beamed ceilings, French windows and doors, and stone pathways. There’s plenty of places to get wet too, with three-and-a-half bathrooms across the compound, an outdoor swimming pool filled with saltwater, adjoining spa, and a fountain.

As far as the scale of rockstar mansions goes however, Flea’s is fairly conservative compared to some we’ve already taken a virtual poke in. His LA home is closer on the scale to Dave Grohls old pad than it is John Lennon‘s English estate or Dr. Dre’s $35 million abode and the decor is far homely than the outrageous decor found in the properties of Prince or Tool vocalist Maynard James Keenan

According to Curbedthe estate has some interesting local history. It was built in 1925 by the son of Griffith J. Griffith, a local benefactor who is the namesake of the nearby Griffith Park, home to popular outdoor concert venue, The Greek Theatre, and local observatory.

Flea bought the property in 2011, for $4.55 million and is now asking $6.8 million. The potential profit isn’t as much as the £10 million flip that another famous bassist, Sting, is plotting on the sale of his luxury three-storey London townhouse, but a tidy profit for the Chili Pepper none the less.
