Lady Gaga has announced her first new music since collaborating with Bradley Cooper on the A Star is Born soundtrack. ‘Stupid Love’ will be out this Friday February 28.

The US musician photographed a billboard teasing the new single, ‘Stupid Love’, which she posted on social media. “‘STUPID LOVE’ THE NEW SINGLE BY LADY GAGA OUT FRIDAY AT MIDNIGHT ET #LG6” she wrote. The hashtag indicates ‘Stupid Love’ is the first taste of Gaga’s sixth album. Her fifth album was 2016’s Joanne.

Producer BloodPop also shared the image on Instagram, revealing he produced ‘Stupid Love’ along with French house DJ Tchami. The American producer BloodPop (aka Michael Tucker) has risen to a high rank in pop’s hit factory over the last decade. He came to notice working with Charli XCX and Grimes back in 2014. He then firmly established himself as one of the main contributors to Justin Bieber’s Purpose album.

BloodPop also worked on Gaga’s Joanne, co-producing the whole LP with Mark Ronson. Tchami and Gaga go way back. He worked on a trio of tracks from 2013’s Art Pop, including the singles ‘Applause’ and ‘Do What U Want’ feat R. Kelly.

Gaga released Joanne in October 2016. It was accompanied by a more minimal style aesthetic and featured a number of singer-songwriter oriented compositions. That said, it still had some throbbing pop songs, including the lead single ‘Perfect Illusion’, which featured Ronson, BloodPop and Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker.

Gaga starred alongside Cooper in the 2018 film A Star Is Born as well as supplying a number of songs for the soundtrack. The most famous of the bunch is ‘Shallow’, a duet with Cooper that plays a key role in the film’s plot. The anthemic ‘Shallow’ was tremendously successful, winning the Academy Award for Best Original Song and topping the US Billboard and ARIA charts.
