“We come with all the amps in the world… it’s gonna be loud, it’s gonna be bright, we’re here to have a good time. You only live once!”

That was the promise of Airbourne singer Joel O’Keeffe when it was first revealed that the rock act “straight outta Warrnambool” would be playing July’s Splendour In The Grass, screaming straight into the three-day music festival (which is now completely sold out) with guitars blazing, toting heavy riffs and heavier attitude.

Now the rock band have announced a set of Splendour 2013 sideshows to sate fans, joining the likes of Wavves and Unknown Mortal Orchestra Jake Bugg and Surfer Blood, VillagersDarwin Deez, as well as James Blake, Haim, Ms Mr, Everything Everything, Fidlar, Daughter, Palma Violets, and Cold War Kids to perform tours.

Airbourne are set to release their third studio album Black Dog Barking on May 20th, a long awaited release after having first announced in 2011 that they were starting work on the project after completing touring on 2010’s No Guts, No Glory. The first single from the album “Live It Up,” and accompanying video were also recently revealed via the band’s website.

Their return for Splendour In The Grass and its sideshows follows months of extensive touring through US, Canada, and across the Atlantic to knock off multiple European dates, and its their second time on the Splendour bill, after playing in 2007 alongside the likes of Arctic Monkeys, Bloc Party, Kaiser Chiefs, and The Shins.

To warm up the riffage for their Byron Bay visit, Airbourne will be hitting their hometown of Warrnambool, Melbourne, Sydney, and lighting up sleepy ol’ Canberra. Dates and details below.
