Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor has shared a post-surgery update, thanking fans for support following some immediate surgery on his knees.
Late last week, Corey Taylor undoubtedly worried some of his fans by revealing that he was set to undergo some immediate surgery on both of his knees.
“Surgery in both knees today,” he wrote, before joking that he’ll soon “be worth Six Million Dollars!!”
Thankfully, the rocker has since assured his followers that all was well, taking to Instagram again to reveal that his brief stay in hospital went ahead as planned.
“Hey everybody, just got out of surgery,” Taylor explained in a video filmed from his car. “Doctors said everything was great. Just cleaned up a bunch of stuff in there and I will be back on stage in no time.”
“Thank you to everybody for the well wishes and everything and I will see you soon.”
News of Corey Taylor’s knee surgery comes just days after Slipknot pencilled in their first live date in almost three years, revealing an upcoming appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! later in the week.
This performance is set to be the band’s first since Japan’s Knotfest in 2016, and is set to be the first taste of Slipknot’s new era, with new music, masks, and even members potentially on display.
While Slipknot released ‘All Out Life’ last year, news of their upcoming record has been marred by a bit of controversy, with former member Chris Fehn reportedly being booted from the group after filing a lawsuit seeking withheld funds.
Although Slipknot issued a statement labelling Fehn a former member of the band, the rocker’s lawyer has disputed this, leaving this situation likely to be sorted out in the courtroom.
With Slipknot’s sixth album set for release on August 9th, the band are set to head to Australia not long after, heading down under for a massive tour with Metallica. Check out all the details below!
