If you missed out on seeing the rock juggernaut that is Queens Of The Stone Age when they were in Australia for Splendour In The Grass last year, you can rest easy with the news that the group have just announced a huge Aussie headline tour for 2018.
Since the group were last in Australia last July for their Splendour In The Grass appearance (as well as a handful of sideshows), they’ve had a pretty wild time. The ensuing time has seen the group release their seventh studio album, Villains, censored by a New Zealand church, and has even seen frontman Josh Homme read British kids a bedtime story.
Now, the group are set to return to Aussie shores to perform a seven-date tour of the country in August and September.
Supported by the incomparable blues maestro C.W. Stoneking (otherwise known as Jack White’s new best mate), the band are set to hit up Brisbane, Newcastle, Sydney, Hobart, Melbourne, Adelaide, and Perth. Sadly, despite hitting up Darwin for a show on their last tour, the Northern Territory capital won’t be scoring a show from Queens Of The Stone Age this time around.
“Everybody who knows me knows that Australia is my home away from home,” explained Josh Homme of the upcoming tour, indicating he wasn’t pulling our leg when he said he wanted to come back to Australia sooner rather than later.
The Frontier Members Pre-Sale for the band’s upcoming tour kicks off on May 1st, with tickets going on sale to the general public at midday local time for your state. Be warned though, the group’s Splendour In The Grass sideshows sold out in record time last year, so be sure to get in quick for these shows!
