Slipknot have taken their new material to the live stage, performing some forthcoming tracks on Jimmy Kimmel Live!
The last couple of weeks have been pretty big for Slipknot fans. With the group’s new record set for August, the band announced their live return with an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!
Appearing on the show on Friday, this performance marked the group’s first in three years, and gave fans a chance to hear material from Slipknot’s upcoming sixth album, We Are Not Your Kind.
Taking place just one day after the band officially announced their new album, along with their new masks, the performance featured the live debut of ‘All Out Life’ (which was released back in October), and new single, ‘Unsainted’.

Notably, this performance was Slipknot’s first appearance without Chris Fehn in almost 20 years, owing to the percussionist’s ongoing lawsuit with his former bandmates, leading to a large amount of internal strife within the group.
In related news, Corey Taylor revealed back in 2018 that the band’s new album sounds a lot like their 2001 album, Iowa.
“We have 16 songs written right now, and they are fucking dangerous,” Taylor explained. “I loved .5 :The Gray Chapter, but this album, to me, makes .5 look like nobody’s business. This is Iowa levels of heavy.”
With anticipation for this new record clearly reaching fever pitch, Corey Taylor took to social media again today to clear up any confusion about what the new record is set to sound like.
“Thanks to the millions of #maggots around the world,” Taylor began. “Spoiler: new album has Iowa moments. Also has Vol. 3 [The Subliminal Verses] moments. But it overwhelmingly has WANYK moments.”
“Everyone’s a critic, but I hope this clears up any misconceptions. Enjoy the next chapter- see you all soon!”
While Slipknot are set to release their new album, We Are Not Your Kind, on August 9th, the band are set to head to Australia not long after, heading down under for a massive tour with Metallica. Check out all the details below!
