Just when you thought the dust had settled on the Oasis 2025 tour, new details have emerged about the upcoming documentary that captured the whole reunion.

Producer Steven Knight, the creator of the acclaimed Peaky Blinders series, told Project Big Screen that the film is “a documentary with a plot,” and that it “actually got a story,” suggesting it won’t be your standard behind-the-scenes rock doco.

Apparently, the current cut is a whopping four hours long, which Knight calls “phenomenal,” though he admits they’re in the process of trimming it down to a more manageable length.

Knight said interviewing Noel and Liam Gallagher for the film was a highlight: “They’re just one quote after another, they’re just so funny.”

The film is in very capable hands, with Dylan Southern and Will Lovelace directing. The pair have a stellar track record with music stories, having previously helmed LCD Soundsystem’s brilliant 2012 concert film, Shut Up and Play the Hits. They also directed the 2022 indie-rock deep-dive Meet Me in the Bathroom.

Of course, in true Oasis fashion, the film’s existence was previously a point of contention. As revealed back in March 2025, the project was confirmed despite Liam Gallagher previously telling fans a doco was “not happening.”

While the mammoth reunion tour wrapped up last November after selling out stadiums across the globe, this film promises one last look at one of the most anticipated comebacks in rock history.

In Australia, over 320,000 fans turned out for the five history-making, sold-out shows.

“Thanks for putting up with us. We know we were dickheads sometimes,” Liam Gallagher told the crowd. “Your support has put us back on the map. Respect! You’ve got a lovely fucking country. See you again.”

Fans proudly donned their favourite band colours and the classic three stripes — many sporting merch from the ‘Live ’25’ pop-up stores — at the shows. While the first Melbourne gig came with some hiccups – like a concertgoer launching flares into the crowd – Rolling Stone AU/NZ gave it a 5/5 review, saying the 2025 version of Oasis is “the best we’ve seen”.
